The Mexicali Bees

"The Mexicali Bees" is more than a tale; it’s also about neighbors helping neighbors. The narrative takes place during a time of uncertainty and trepidation. It was an era that saw the bees from Imperial Valley get drafted to go fight the Big Bug War, the second version of “The bug war to end all bug wars.” Soon after all those bees were forced to leave, the Mexicali bees were asked to help pollinate the farm fields there.

The story takes place in early 1942, at an area that is still home to two fertile bordering regions: Imperial Valley to the north and Mexicali Valley to the south. "The Mexicali Bees" is a story written for readers of all ages.
